Mutations in Grow a Garden are random bonuses that apply to crops when you harvest them. They change the crop's appearance and multiply its sell value. Common mutations like Golden double the value. Rare mutations like Rainbow multiply by 5x. The rarest mutations like Celestial multiply by 10x.

Uncommon RarityThe crop turns golden, doubling its base sell value.
Has a random chance to trigger on any crop harvest. Using fertilizer increases the chance.

Uncommon RarityThe crop grows to enormous size, multiplying its value by 2.5x.
Random chance on harvest. More likely with certain pet bonuses active.

Rare RarityThe crop becomes rainbow-colored, multiplying value by 5x. One of the most sought-after mutations.
Low random chance on harvest. Significantly more likely during rain weather events in the game.

Rare random chance on harvest. Some pets increase crystal mutation probability.

Uncommon RarityThe crop freezes solid, giving it a unique appearance and doubling its value.
Triggered during cold weather events in the game. Plant crops when it is snowing for a higher chance.

Volcanic
Legendary RarityThe crop is infused with volcanic energy, multiplying value by 8x. One of the rarest mutations.
Can only be obtained during the rare Volcanic weather event. Plant crops just before the event starts.

Legendary RarityThe rarest standard mutation. Multiplies crop value by 10x.
Extremely rare random chance. Best obtained during meteor shower night events.

Frozen is Uncommon so not as valuable as Rainbow but still worth farming.
🌋 Volcanic
Volcanic is 8x value. Always have Legendary crops planted when this triggers.
🌙 Night/Meteor
Celestial is 10x value. Have your best crops planted for meteor events.

Dragon and Unicorn pets specifically boost mutation rates.
Apply fertilizer

Plant during weather events

What is the rarest mutation in Grow a Garden?
Celestial is the rarest standard mutation with a 10x value multiplier. Volcanic (8x) is also extremely rare as it only occurs during volcanic events.
How do I get Rainbow crops?
Rainbow crops have a low random chance on harvest, but your chances are doubled during Rain weather events. Using a Unicorn pet further increases this chance.
Can I force a mutation to happen?
You cannot guarantee a mutation, but you can maximise your odds by using high-tier fertilizer, specific pets, and planting during corresponding weather events.
Are mutated seeds worth more in trades?
Yes! Mutated crops, especially high-rarity ones like Rainbow Dragon Fruit or Crystal Mango, are high-value trading items.
Does every seed have mutations?
Yes, almost every seed can mutate into Golden or Giant variants. Some rare mutations like Crystal only apply to Uncommon and higher rarity seeds.
